Joe Walsh’s Foundation VetsAid Announces Additional Veteran Charities to Benefit from First Annual Concert
Concert Features Performances by Walsh and the Zac Brown Band, Gary Clark Jr and Keith Urban, September 20, 2017 at Eagle Bank Arena in Fairfax VA
(Washington, DC) – In two days Joe Walsh will kick off his new 501C Foundation VetsAid, with the first annual concert to support veterans and their families, featuring Joe and his friends Zac Brown Band, Gary Clark Jr and Keith Urban. Today Walsh announces Snowball Express as a charity partner and the following additional organizations that will benefit from this year’s September 20 concert: Equinox Ranch (equinoxranch.org), Right Turn for Yuma Vets (rightturnyumavets.com), Semper K9 Assistance Dogs (semperk9.org), Project Horse, Inc. (projecthorse.org) Center for American Military Music Opportunities (CAMMO) (cammomusic.org), Code Platoon (codeplatoon.org), Work Vessels for Vets, Inc. (workvesselsforvets.org), Arkansas Run for the Fallen (arkansasrunforthefallen.org) and Suiting Warriors (suitingwarriors.org).
“I have cared about this issue for a long time and have supported Veterans charities for many years,” Walsh explained. “In my touring I have come across Veterans all over this country, seen homeless Vets, visited Walter Reade hospital and have seen these smaller organizations often run by Vets who are there in their communities doing a lot of good. A lot of the bigger orgazniations have a lot of overhead, and I wanted to do something to find and help these smaller ones which are in the trenches and doing such good work”.
These charities announced today are in addition to the first round of recipients announced August 23 which included: Operation Mend, Hire Heroes USA, Warrior Canine Connection, TAPS, Semper Fi Fund, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, Stop Soldier Suicide and Swords to Plowshares.
